As we come to the final week in our first semester, we will take a backward look at the story you wrote the first week, and see whether you can apply what you've learned this semester to your own writing.
A plot twist is a surprise at the end of a story, which changes what the reader was expecting. This causes the reader to review all he or she thought was happening in light of the twist. The author, O. Henry, is well-known for writing short stories with a satisfying twist at the end. This week, you'll read two of his stories and analyze his methods.
This week we are again looking at the narrator. Daniel Nayeri is telling his own story. How does the narrator's voice affect the story? Is Nayeri a reliable narrator?

Animal Farm was published in 1945 and tells the story of farm animals who overthrow their farmer to set up an animal-run farm, thus improving their lot. It is an allegorical tale of the Russian Revolution, which began in 1917.
